Welcome to the Mini Police

 

The police play such an important role in the community so we felt we wanted to strengthen it further and make more improvements to our surrounding area. The police came in and introduced the mini police to Year 5 and asked interested children to apply for the role.

After submitting a written application and taking part in an interview from the police, the children got to get to work. The children have really enjoyed their time being part of this and hope to make further changes in the wider community next year.

Strengthening links:

The police have come in to school more often to speak to every class on various topics in school. All the children in Pontybrenin value their workshops and lessons from the police and learn a lot from them.

Policing in school:

This year, the Mini Police decided what they wanted to focus on and made changes to the smooth running of the school. They were a great help to teachers outside at break times, especially when lining up the classes.

Assemblies:

The Mini Police have also enjoyed taking part in assemblies with the police and  thinking about how to lead assemblies too.
