Welcome everyone,
I’m Debra, the chairperson for Pontybrenin Primary School PTA. I volunteer my time, along with our amazing committee and members to help raise money for the children at the school. As you have a child, children or grandchildren at Pontybrenin you automatically have access to the PTA. It’s your association and we are happy to help anyway we can.
What is the PTA?
The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is an open community of parent volunteers working alongside the school and teachers to benefit the school and ensure the best educational experience for all its pupils.
How does the PTA benefit the school?
Parents have a big impact on how well their children do at school. Taking an active role in your PTA is one of the ways you can get involved and help to make a difference:
- We raise money through activities and events to supplement funds for school initiatives.
- We provide a social support network for parents.
- We provide a forum for parents to have a say.
- We provide volunteers and opportunities so that parents can support their child’s learning.
Our events:
Your PTA takes pride in ensuring the children have fun whilst raising money for school. We try to make events affordable for parents and enjoyable for everyone. Over the last year we have held school discos, a quiz night, the Christmas Fayre – as well as celebrating other events over the Summer and Easter. How the money raised is spent is a collaborative process and we work closely with the school and Pupil Voice groups to ensure it benefits the children of Pontybrenin. Our most recent project was the adventure playground:
How can I help?
There are a lot of PTA activities to help with – from fundraising to social media posts, baking to blagging prizes!
Any parent can be a member – you can of course volunteer to be a committee member and come along to PTA meetings, or just help with events. You really can do as much or as little as you are able to.
We always need new members and would love for you to come on board! We appreciate the pressures of family and work and are grateful for anytime that you can spare. If you would like more information on becoming an active member of the PTA please do get in touch anytime.
