Welcome to the Criw Cymraeg
We are proud to be Bronze Siarter Iaith school. The Criw Cymraeg worked extremely hard in order to achieve this with the help of all the pupils and staff at Pontybrenin. The Criw Cymraeg are a group of pupils spread throughout the school who help to keep Welsh a focus in Pontybrenin. They present themselves impeccably well every year and always create lots of fun in the school through events and activities.
Some of our achievements in school
Shwmae Day:
The Criw Cymraeg enjoy organising Shwmae Day every year and create lots of fun for the day. This day is very important to Pontybrenin as we are very proud of our Welsh heritage.
Eisteddfod:
Each year, different Eisteddfod competitions and events are held. The Criw Cymraeg play a vital role in the planning, organisation and delivery of the Eisteddfod. The children are also always involved in part of the judging process and take their roles very seriously.
Welsh music day:
This year, we celebrated in true Pontybrenin style for our Welsh music day. The Criw Cymraeg helped to organised a fun afternoon full of sining and welsh celebrations.
Developing links:
The Criw Cymraeg continue to attend events to develop Pontybrenin’s links with other schools and communities. The children thoroughly enjoy these days and aim to bring back as many good ideas as they can.
